Ye, FKA Kanye West, issues official apology to Jewish community
According to Vanity FairOn Monday, January 26, a new issue of the print edition of The Wall Street Journal was released. Additionally, the post contained a letter of apology from Ye. “To those I have hurt” the letter is titled.
“Twenty-five years ago, I was in a car accident that broke my jaw and injured the right frontal lobe of my brain. At the time, the focus was on the visible damage: the fracture, the swelling, and the immediate physical trauma. The deeper injury, the one inside my skull, went unnoticed,” the rapper writes, beginning his letter.
Throughout the memo, Ye revealed that his “frontal lobe injury” was not diagnosed until 2023. Additionally, he said that “medical surveillance” had caused “severe damage” to his mental health. Additionally, he said it contributed to his bipolar I diagnosis.
Ye then explained that he thought he saw the world clearly, but was in a manic state and in “denial.” All this, while feeling “powerful, certain and unstoppable”.
“In this fractured state, I turned to the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika,” he continued.
Ultimately, he said he was “mortified” by his actions. And he is “neither a Nazi” nor an “anti-Semite”.

“My words as a leader in my community have real impact and global influence. In my madness, I completely lost sight of that,” he continued.
In conclusion, Ye noted that as he finds his footing “through an effective regimen of medication, therapy, exercise and clean living,” his clarity is now renewed. Additionally, he plans to branch out into his various artistic fields and “help” the world.
“I am not asking for sympathy or a free pass, although I long to earn your forgiveness. I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I return home,” he concluded.
