While iOS users While you have a simple smartwatch choice in the Apple Watch, Android owners have a few more options to choose from, as well as face shapes. The semi-circular Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Watch 8 Classic have both a unique appearance and a set of health features, and are currently reduced to as low as $280 at Amazon for the 30mm Bluetooth versionOr as low as $433 for the Watch8 Classic.
As the first watches to feature Google’s Wear OS 6, they made waves when they launched with bigger, bolder watch faces and an improved interface that displays more information. It has a 1.5-inch AMOLED display that’s generously sized even on the 40mm version we tested, and has more than enough brightness for checking out on a sunny day.
Both watches feature the kind of fitness and health tracking data you’d expect from a modern smartwatch, including steps, heart rate, as well as sleep quality and bedtime, which recommends when you should go to bed, if you can’t set that for yourself. You can also use the optical sensor to measure your antioxidant index to help you track what you eat without manually logging meals.
Battery life is a key factor for any smartwatch, and the smaller 40mm didn’t really impress us, running for around 20 hours, or about half of Samsung’s claimed battery life. The more expensive Watch8 Classic lasted almost two full days, even with some physical activities tracked. If more than a full day of battery is a key selling point, I’d consider upgrading.
Although only the graphite and silver models are in stock at the time of writing, there are discounts for both models. 40mm And 44mm sizes across both Bluetooth only And LTE Connected choice. You can also get a great discount on the more luxurious Watch8 Classic, which I spotted for $433 in black or $450 in white.
