Manchester United overcame a Fulham fightback from a two-goal lead to win 3-2 in a thrilling match Premier League game.
Raul Jimenez and Kevin had silenced Old Trafford with two late goals to cancel out strikes from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, but Benjamin Sesko scored moments later in stoppage time to give Michael Carrick his third consecutive victory as United interim manager.
The win takes the Red Devils back to fourth in the Premier League as they tie top four rivals Chelsea and Liverpool on Saturday.
He also continued Carrick’s 100% start as caretaker, having beaten Manchester City and Arsenal as well as Fulham so far since replacing Ruben Amorim.
Man Utd v Fulham as it happened
United took the lead in the 19th minute after VAR converted a penalty into a free kick. Bruno Fernandes swung it at the far post and Casemiro powered a header into the corner.
Fulham had spells of the ball and threatened without passing through, Senne Lammens stopping Harry Wilson’s free-kick and blocking Joachim Andersen from close range, but their best moments came to nothing.
The hosts then made it 2-0 in the 56th minute at the break, with Casemiro sending a pass into the box for Cunha, who smashed a first-timer into the roof of the net past Bernd Leno.
Jorge Cuenca then thought he had reduced the gap when he tapped in from close range following a deflection, but a lengthy VAR check resulted in an extremely tight offside.
Sesko almost ended the match just a minute after coming on, but his header crashed into the woodwork before sending a second effort into the roof of the net.
Fulham were down but certainly not eliminated in the final 10 minutes and a chance was called for Raul Jimenez, whose shot deflected off Harry Maguire before Senne Lammens knocked the ball away before Joachim Andersen saw a header go wide.
The visitors were then awarded a penalty when Maguire and Jimenez reconnected as the defender brought down the striker with a desperate lunge.
Jimenez dusted himself off and fired the spot kick into the top corner to set up a grandstand finish at the Theater of Dreams.
And Kevin then silenced Old Trafford by finding the equalizer by clipping a magnificent effort into the top corner as Carrick looked set for his first stumbling block in charge.
But Sesko sent the Red Devils back in front after knocking the ball away from Fernandes before firing it into the back of the net.
