Controversial columnist Pier Morgan sets the record straight on whether alcohol played a role in his recent fall that left him hospitalized with a new hip.

“So, uh, good luck with your recovery. I think he’s going to be in the hospital for a few days while he recovers,” Reid, 55, continued. “I offered to come with grapes, but he says he has enough to open a vineyard. So I was rebuffed.”
“Didn’t he fall in a restaurant? ” companion GM host Kate Garraway request. “Do we have any evidence if wine production was involved in this fall? Was he having a drink or two?”
While Reid responded that she “didn’t know exactly how much of the vineyard had been absorbed” before Morgan’s fall, the Piers Morgan uncensored host confirmed via sound Instagram Stories later Monday morning that he was sober when he fell.
“To clarify, ZERO alcohol was involved in the incident,” Piers wrote on a clip of the show, adding a crying and laughing emoji.
Morgan revealed that he was currently in the hospital on Sunday, January 18, sharing a selfie from his bed and providing a brief and sometimes comical timeline of the events that led to a broken leg and hip.

In the photo, Morgan gave the camera a thumbs up, revealing he had an IV and was receiving oxygen. The internet personality ended his update with a slight jab at the president Donald Trump.
“9. I blame Donald Trump,” Morgan joked.
On Instagram, Morgan also shared a photo of the x-ray showing exactly where her femur was fractured. The commentator circled the fracture, which appeared to be located near the acetabulum, where the femur and hip connect.
In the comments section, Morgan admitted that “the shame of it all is worse than the pain,” adding that he felt like a “sack of potatoes” when he fell.
Morgan’s revelation Sunday mirrored his 2019 hospitalization announcement — right down to his joke about President Trump, who at the time was nearing the end of his first term.
“Bad news… after some extensive tests at the hospital this morning, it looks like I’m not going to die,” Morgan joked via X, then Twitter, at the time. “I can only apologize for all the upset and offense I know this development will cause.
Morgan later revealed that he had been diagnosed with stomach problems.
“If you really want to know, I was diagnosed with gastric gastritis and duodenitis,” he said. “I blame eating a mouthful of vegan sausages, Brexit and Donald Trump.”
