Twitch streamer and rapper Aspen mapping has the internet buzzing after a video of her apparently disciplining her dog surfaced online. Amid the noise, many have responded as the 19-year-old faces serious charges following her recent arrest in connection with the incident.

Aspen Kartier faces animal cruelty charges
On the night of Friday, January 30, reports circulated online that Aspen Kartier, whose legal name is Aspen Easterlling, had been arrested. According to TMZBrookhaven police say they have received several complaints related to a circulating video. Authorities added that they had gathered enough evidence to obtain both a search warrant for his residence and an arrest warrant. The streamer was reportedly taken into custody around 9:30 p.m.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, authorities said the three-month-old Maltipoo found inside the residence appeared to be in good health. Animal services responded to the scene and took the dog into custody.
PETA issues statement following arrest
Following the announcement of Aspen Kartier’s arrest, she was charged with animal cruelty and later released on bail. As the case gained attention online, PETA released a statement thanking the public for speaking out and confirmed they had assisted in the investigation. In its statement, PETA shared:
“Update: After a disturbing video appeared online showing Twitch streamer Aspen Kartier abusing her dog, PETA worked with Brookhaven Police to secure an animal cruelty arrest and the dog’s rescue. Thank you to everyone who spoke out about this case. Never stay silent if you see abuse.”
On Monday, February 2, the photo of Aspen during his arrest surfaced online, adding to the ongoing conversation.
Around the same time she also changed her profile picture to a picture of his dog.
