The podcaster came on air to refute claims that the awards show snubbed him. Instead, he clarified that it was a deliberate act on his part to exclude himself from programming after being approached for payment.

Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” has become one of the rallying points on controversial topics in recent years, including allegations that he actively contributed to Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory.

The media personality responded to circulating theories that anti-woke figures like him had been removed from the list. He said on Thursday’s episode of his podcast that he did not in fact submit his podcast to be nominated against the circulating theories.

“So they asked me to apply to be nominated for the Golden Globes, and you had to pay $500, and the $500 was like paperwork or whatever. I said no,” Rogan said. He stressed that, as far as he is concerned, he has already won and that the awards shows will not make him think otherwise.

The awards show was filled with plenty of surprises on Sunday, Jan. 11, when Teyana Taylor won Best Supporting Actor for her performance in “One Battle After Another.”
