Jack Black is a big deal and the ultimate box office draw these days (see also: “A Minecraft Movie”, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”, “Kung Fu Panda 4”, etc.), and he brings all his characteristic chaotic charisma to “Anaconda”, now available for purchase digitally. The 2025 film is a meta-sequel to the 1997 cult classic of the same name about a documentary film crew who are chased by a massive human-eating anaconda. The 2025 sequel, meanwhile, focuses on wedding photographer Doug (Jack Black) and his best friend Griff (Paul Rudd), who decide to try to remake the original “Anaconda” (their favorite childhood movie, naturally), only to end up being chased by a giant snake themselves.
While some fans felt like there was just no way “Anaconda” (2025) could ever live up to the original cult classicit’s always a lot of fun. (How could it be otherwise with Rudd and Black? It’s fluffy family comedy gold.) Now, following its exclusive theatrical release, the film is available digitally and is scheduled to arrive on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2026. The physical media package should also be worth the wait, judging by the special features that will accompany it.
Anaconda’s physical media package will include several special features
The physical media editions of “Anaconda” (2025) will include a number of bonus features, including outtakes and bloopers that are guaranteed to be great, as well as deleted and extended scenes. It will also include featurettes titled “A Ride into Chaos with Jack & Paul,” “Friends in the Wild: The Cast,” “The Snake Charmer: Tom Gormican,” and “Reinventing the Legend: Anaconda.”
Additionally, the home version will give audiences a second chance to see some of the Mid and post-credits scenes from “Anaconda”in case they missed them the first time. If the film does as well in the home media market as it does in theaters, it sneaky super-meta-sequel he set up might even happen sooner rather than later. Until then, fans will have all the greatness of Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s antics to watch whenever they want. Now if we can just get a VHS version Really enjoy the meta-cult classic of it all…
“Anaconda” is currently available to rent digitally for $19.99 and to purchase for $24.99, wherever digital movies are sold.
