Hailey Bieber sets the record straight after claiming she shared a video about tolerating abuse in her marriage with Justin Bieber went viral.
The model, 29, posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 10. respond to speculation she reposted a video examining “abusive” celebrity couples.
“Hey! I know you online people are really bored, but I haven’t reposted any videos talking about my relationship,” she wrote. “Have a lovely Saturday!”
The TikTok video dealt with several high-profile celebrity relationships that the user said were romanticized because the woman “tolerates mediocrity, abuse, doing the majority of domestic and emotional labor in exchange for being in a relationship.”

“There is no better example than Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber,” the video continues while claiming that the couple stayed together because Hailey “will tolerate this abuse” from Justin, 31, with whom she shares 16-month-old son Jack.
Justin and Hailey started dating in 2015 before calling it quits he stopped a year later. After their split, Justin briefly rekindled his on-off romance with Selena Gomezbut the singers pulled the plug for good in 2018. Later that year, Justin and Hailey rekindled their relationship and got engaged. They exchanged vows at a New York courthouse in September 2018 before having a second wedding ceremony a year later.
Hailey has since a shared glimpse into their wedding — including how she supported Justin amid his ups and downs.
“I remember I called [my mom] a few different moments, a particular moment [when] we were in Brooklyn and I was calling him crying and I was like, “I just can’t do this.” There’s no way I can do this if it’s going to be like this forever,'” Hailey explained during an episode of the “In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith” podcast in November 2021. “And I just remember her being so calm on the phone and saying, ‘It’s going to pass, you’re going to be okay and he’s going to be healthy and we’re here for you.’
She added, “But I also think I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now is not the time to abandon them. I just wouldn’t do that to them.”
At the time, Hailey reversed her decision to fight for a future with Justin.
“Imagine potentially abandoning someone in the middle of the worst time of their life. I’m not that type of person,” she continued. “So I was going to stick it out, regardless of the outcome. It was really hard. There were days where I literally was like, ‘I don’t know if he’s going to make it.’ Something deep inside me said, ‘He’s going to make it.’ I just didn’t know how long it was going to take.
Justin also discussed the lessons he learned at the beginning of his marriage.
“It’s a journey. I remember when I first got married, I was a little bit depressed because I thought marriage was going to solve all my problems and it didn’t,” he told Apple Music’s Ebro Darden in May 2022. “It was just kind of a reflection of, ‘Man, you’re a little hypocrite, man.'”
Most recently, Hailey shut down rumors about her relationship with Justin. Hailey was asked in a May 2025 Vogue profile about online chats, to which she responded, “Well, I thought seven years of doing it would have done it by now.” [died down]and this is not the case.
