Upon its arrival from the crypto-native financial platform, Gemini Predictions announced that it would offer event contracts which are simple yes or no questions about future events. From the outset, customers were able to trade USD event contracts in their Gemini Exchange account across web, iOS and Android.

The company launched its predictions marketplace at a time when others were entering the market, including big brands like Fanatics sportsbook and FanDuel. In December 2025, Fanatics Markets has been launchedwith a platform designed to allow people to discuss highlights in the fields of sport, finance and culture. The other major sports betting operator announced its new move at the same time, with FanDuel Predicts launching shortly after.

Although the company has already launched and received regulatory approval upfront, the industry has faced backlash in recent months, with some state regulators pushing back against the platforms. In LouisianaFor example, the Gaming Control Board issued a press release suggesting that it now considers sporting event contracts and “certain other event contracts” a violation of state gambling laws.
