BBC at Oslo court ahead of crown princess’s son’s rape trial

The trial of the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit is due to begin on Tuesday in Oslo. Marius Borg Høiby is charged with 38 counts, including raping four women, assaulting and threatening a girlfriend and destroying her apartment, as well as drug and driving charges.

If convicted, he faces more than 10 years in prison.

On Sunday, Høiby was arrested for the fourth time since being detained by police since August 2024.

It comes as her mother’s links to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were revealed.

BBC Europe digital editor Paul Kirby reports from outside court.
