Ashton Kutcher looks back on 2021 swimming debate it caused quite a stench.
In July 2021, the Beauty actor and wife Mila Kunis triggered huge discussion in Hollywood and online when they spoke about their hygiene habits on the “Armchair Expert” podcast hosted by Dax Shepard.
“I don’t wash my body with soap every day. But I wash pits, breasts, holes and soles,” said Kunis, 42, also admitting that she and Kutcher don’t bathe their children — daughter Wyatt, 11 and his Dimitri9 — every day.
Kutcher, 47, also chimed in, telling Shepard and the co-host Monica Padman“I wash my armpits and crotch every day, and nothing else. I was given a bar of Lever 2000 which works every time. Nothing else.”
The couple’s confession prompted celebrities, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson And CardiB to comment on the great bathing debate of 2021, which, in hindsight, Kutcher now judges to be overblown.

Hamilton the elder Ramos supported Kutcher, telling the outlet, “I can confirm my boy is taking a shower.”
During their 2021 appearance on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Kutcher, Kunis and Shepard sparked a chain reaction with their bath routines. The discussion broke out when Shepard filled out the This show from the 70s alums are speaking out about her ongoing feud with co-host Padman, arguing that she shouldn’t wash her body with soap every day.
“You shouldn’t get rid of all the natural oil in your skin with a bar of soap every day. That’s insane,” Shepard explained.
Padman replied: “I can’t believe I’m in the minority here who washes my whole body in the shower. Who taught you how to do that? not wash?”
Kunis then added, “I didn’t have hot water when I was a kid, so I didn’t shower much anyway.”
THE Black Swan The actress added: “When I had kids, I didn’t bathe them every day either. I wasn’t that parent who bathed my newborns – ever.”
“Now here’s the thing: If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point,” Kutcher shared her philosophy on bathing her kids.
A few weeks, Shepard and his wife Kristen Bell also made headlines when they revealed on The view that they have a similar perspective.
“I’m a big fan of waiting for the stench. Once you smell an odor, it’s a biological way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” Bell said. “There’s a red flag. Because honestly, it’s just bacteria. And once you get the bacteria, you have to say, ‘Get in the bathtub or shower.’ So I don’t hate what they’re doing. I’m waiting for the stench.
