West Indies had to win by 19 runs in the final over of the match against proven bowling all-rounder Ben Stokes. Brathwaite smashed 4 consecutive sixes to seal the match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was the second T20 World Cup title for the West Indies.

Yuvraj Singh’s iconic six 6s in a row against Stuart Broad

For the fourth spot, the former cricketer opted for Yuvraj Singh’s iconic six 6s in an over against prolific England pacer Stuart Broad. Yuvraj completed his half-century in just 12 balls so far, which is the fastest half-century scored by an Indian batter in T20Is. India won the 2007 T20 World Cup match, cementing their legacy in world cricket in a renewed manner.

For the number 3 spot, Fleming mentioned Australian batting Mitchell Marsh’s brilliant 77* in the final over of the 2021 match against New Zealand. Thanks to Marsh’s unstoppable batting, Australia won the title this year. Australia were in a tough spot as they had to chase down 173. The batter helped the team the most in sealing the fate of the match in the penultimate over.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to conclude the list

For number 4, the former cricketer chose the iconic moment of India’s victory over Pakistan by just 5 runs in the summit clash of the 2007 T20 World Cup. He believed that it was the defining moment for Twenty20, as the following year the Indian Premier League (IPL) was inaugurated and changed the nature of cricket forever.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, a group of emerging cricketers guided the team to this iconic moment which, to this day, inspires Indian cricket fans. Handing the ball to a young Joginder Sharma turned out to be a masterstroke from legendary captain MS Dhoni.

Damien Fleming concluded his “Top 5” list with Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli was expected to be in the list due to his unbeaten 82 innings against Pakistan in Melbourne during the T20 World Cup 2022. India were 4 wickets down for 31 in the second innings while chasing 160 when Virat Kohli took the field. His 82 points ensured the victory for the Men in Blue.
