Phew! Lauryn Hill had fans singing their hearts out and grabbing tissues with his moving, star-studded tribute to D’Angelo, Roberta FlackAnd Angie Pierre. Fans were calling the entire memorial “the perfect way to kick off Black History Month” and exactly what the culture needed! Lauryn brought black excellence to the Grammy stage with an entire team of legends like Wyclef Jean, Bilal, Shaka Khanand many more.

Lauryn Hill celebrates D’Angelo, Roberta Flack and Angie Stone with iconic team-up
If Grammy watchers were looking for a Mic drop moment, Lauryn Hill delivered! She took the stage for the first time in years to celebrate the lives and legacies of her longtime friend D’Angelo, singer/pianist Roberta Flack and Angie Stone. All three legends died in 2025: Roberta in February, Angie in March, and D’Angelo in October.
Lauryn’s set was filled with a few shoot the heavy hitters of R&B. She kicked things off by performing “Nothing Even Matters”, on which D’Angelo then appears. lucky day joined him on stage for “Brown Sugar.” Following, Anthony Hamilton And Raphaël Sadiq performed “Lady”, followed by Leon Thomas with “Devil’s Pie”. The fans and audience completely lost their minds when Bilal came out to perform D’Angelo’s “How Does It Feel.” Jon Batiste followed by a piano rendition of “Africa.”
Lauryn then performed a sultry tribute to Roberta Flack while Batiste performed “The First Time I Saw Your Face.” October London sang “Closer I Get To You”, then Chaka Khan and Jean Legend lit it up with “Where Is The Love?” And just when we thought the set couldn’t get any bigger, Lauryn turned the Grammys into a real-life Fugees reunion, bringing out Wyclef Jean for “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” Wyclef Jean really served as the icing on the cake by giving fans exactly what they wanted to see, with him and Lauryn sharing a scene together again. Lauryn Hill’s Grammy pop-out party was truly iconic since she hasn’t attended the ceremony in over a decade.
