The cameras caught up with Mychal Thompsonfather of two-time NBA champion Klay Thompson, and he couldn’t stop gushing about Megan Thee Stallion – calling her “very nice lady” and giving her culinary skills a ringing seal of approval. Asked about her signature dish, Mychal didn’t hesitate: her barbecued baked beans are, in her words, “the best I’ve ever had in my life.“So he’s clearly serious about his cooking game and even said, “No one will ever cook as well as my mom, but man, Megan is a chef.“, he added.
Of course, fans immediately wondered if this parental praise could foreshadow a proposal. When asked if Klay would put a ring on it, the elder Thompson replied diplomatically: “I don’t know, it’s up to them, I have to ask them that.“Yet it seems clear that he is in full agreement, calling Megan a “very charming lady” and making it official that she’s already earned her family’s approval — and perhaps a future spot in Thompson’s cookbook.

Megan’s cooking impressed Klay and Pops
Saturday, Megan Thee Stallion turned to social media to share a super cute video of her cooking for her basketball player and her dad. In the clip, Meg gets him ready in black pajamas, a headband and a full beat, keeping him comfortable but still camera-ready. She explains that Mychal was in town while Klay’s Dallas Mavericks played the LA Lakers, and since she was caught off guard by the visit, she wanted to show serious southern hospitality-preparing chicken thighs, his famous baked beans, potato salad and cornbread.
Klay even makes an appearance, giving Megan some love, before Mychal tries her pudding for the first time and showers her with praise, even joking that she should “withdraw” and open a cooking school. At one point, Mychal can be heard joking: “You will become fat when you get married!» And, of course, the comments section had thoughts on that “retirement” phrase – because sir… the fans were NOT here for that.
Everyone is upset they didn’t get a plate too
Fans absolutely booked it at Megan Thee Stallion TikTok comments sectionand they entered! Even the King’s Hawaiian Rolls team was looking at her recipes, while some fans begged to know when she would cook for them next. Meanwhile, everyone just stood there and watched how Klay and his dad tore those plates apart!
