Another failure for Indian star Vaibhav Suryavanshi in a high-octane clash against Pakistan U19 as he was dismissed in the power play. Skipper Ayush Mhatre disappointed again with a two-ball duck in the innings.
The Indian Under-19 team takes on the Pakistan Under-19 team in the Super 6 of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup. While dynamic batting Suryavanshi represented India’s hope for a good start, he too could not deliver on his promises on this occasion.
India lost to Pakistan in the Youth Asia Cup, and even then, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had failed to excel with the bat. Also on this occasion they are on the verge of further collapse. Mohammad Sayyam is a constant threat to India’s rising star.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi leaves after good start; Ayush Mhatre follows with a duck
Pakistan started with their bowling pair, and Mohammad Sayyam took the new ball alongside Ali Raza. While Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered his powerplay, Sayyam returned to bowl the 8th over of the Indian batting innings.
On the third ball of the over, he skied a delivery and, according to their reputation, the Pakistanis missed the ball. Then they had a chance to eliminate him, because it was complete chaos in the middle. Huzaifa had missed the catch and the opportunity to escape as well.
However, the drama ended in the very next ball as Pakistan scored a classic. Sayyam also missed on this occasion, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who swiveled on a pulled shot, got a slight edge only to be caught by Hamza Zahoor diving to his right.
Ayush Mhatre, the Indian skipper, then came out on the field and was sent off after facing 2 balls. India looked close to another collapse with both their crucial lead back in the dugout.

Vedant Trivedi buoys Indian innings with half-century
India made a good start to the innings with young Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashing a superb 22-ball 30; however, when the dynamic batter was dismissed, the captain followed him in the same manner.
Vedant Trivedi then came out to bat and had to shore up the team’s chances with a good innings in the middle order. Aaron George was also dismissed shortly, while Vihaan Malhotra failed to continue the good start he had with 21 runs.
Much now depends on two dashing cricketers, Vedant Trivedi, who reached his 74-ball half-century and built on a partnership with slugger Abhigyan Kundu.
Will Pakistan U19 be able to crush India’s winning streak in the U19 World Cup?
Pakistan U19 has not beaten the Indian U19 team in recent times, while on the other hand, the current Pakistan Under-19 team has dominated the Men in Blue team in youth cricket. They recently won the Youth Asia Cup final by beating the Indians.
India started their winning streak against the Pakistan U19 team in 2012 when they won by a single point in the quarter-finals. They then won the round of 16 in 2014 and 2018, when they played Pakistan. Both teams are tied on 5 wins each in 10 ICC U19 World Cup matches.
The match between the India and Pakistan U19 teams will be followed by the semi-finals of the competition and then the final which will be played between Bulawayo and Harare on February 3, 4 and 6.
