Toosii pushes back after Syracuse coach talks about commitment
As previously reported Teens of the Shadow RoomToosii put down the mic and decided to pursue his dream of playing Division 1 college football. The 26-year-old rapper recently committed, then decommitted, from Syracuse University, a decision that quickly sparked an online conversation. Following the decommitment, a Syracuse football coach publicly addressed Toosii’s decision, suggesting the rapper was unlikely to play on the team but could potentially go. The coach also stressed that other recruits would be given priority.
Well, it seems Toosii doesn’t agree with this narrative.
On Wednesday, January 28, Toosii went online and called the Syracuse coach a “bozo,” saying the coach spoke out prematurely. According to Toosii, the coach made his decision public because, “I told you I wasn’t coming there anymore, and you wanted to break the news first before telling people what school I go to.”
Toosii also disputed claims that he discussed an interim role, saying conversations with Syracuse centered around a full scholarship.
Toosii begins first day at Louisiana State University
Amid the ongoing debate over his decommitment from Syracuse, Toosii revealed that he has already started his first day at Louisiana State University. On Wednesday morning, he shared a morning prayer on social media, marking the start of his new journey on campus.
However, by the end of the school day, it seemed Toosii had rethought his decision after realizing how well known he was on campus. He shared a photo on campus with a student before tweeting about the attention, writing: “On the first day of school, left out of class, there was a line outside my car waiting to take pictures. I should probably take some online classes, right? lol.”
