Dancing with the stars pro Witney Carson is happy to publicly share that her two-year-old son was humiliated on a recent long-haul flight.
Take to her Instagram Stories In the late hours of Sunday, January 25, Carson, 32, said she felt “very validated” after developer that her child, Jet, was repeatedly asked to keep quiet during her family’s return to the United States from Australia. (Carson lives in Florida when she’s not filming DWTS.)
“It seems like I’ve reached the good side of Instagram,” Carson, who shares two sons, Jet and Leo, 5, with husband, Carson McAllisterwrote over a photo of herself giving a thumbs up while sitting on another flight. “I feel very validated. Thank you for letting me express myself.”
She concluded the post with “We ride at dawn,” to suggest a unified condemnation by fans of her child’s shame.
The reality TV star, who won season 34 of DWTS with partner Robert Irwinwho lives in Australia, followed the post with a photo of Jet sleeping on a chair, presumably between flights. “Angel boy!!!! Almost there, little dude,” Carson captioned the snap.
Carson, who caught up with Irwin, 22, on his family’s trip, alerted fans to his son’s experience via an Instagram Story shared earlier Sunday. “Question for you guys, and be honest: Is it appropriate to ask a child to stay quiet for the entire 13-hour flight? » she asked. “[My son] Jet was playing and laughing with me and we were asked to be quiet because a man in front said he was trying to rest.

A second Instagram Story detailed that a flight attendant “kept shushing Jet,” causing Carson to get out of his chair to take action. “I got up and asked him [the flight attendant] If there were certain hours on the flight we had to be quiet and we would respect that,” Carson wrote. “Otherwise, I don’t expect my kids to sit quietly for 13 hours. OK, goodbye, I’m done.
Fans were quick to share their support for Carson and his family in the hours that followed, with many commenting directly to Us every weekIt is Instagram news reporting. “Wow, I can’t believe the flight attendant was involved! Horrible! That’s what headphones are for!” one follower wrote, while another commented: “I think the fact that your kid made it through without a major meltdown after 1 p.m. is a win. Obviously shushers don’t have kids.”
Carson had documented his family’s visit to Australia on social media in previous weeks. In one particularly adorable post, Carson and his clan were seen visiting Australia’s Irwin Zoo, located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, where the family wore Irwin’s iconic khaki shirts to demonstrate their love for wildlife conservation.
“The gang is back together,” Carson wrote on the carousel, which included videos and photos of his family engaging with lemurs, a giraffe, and a snake (in a glass cage).
Carson has been the target of critical moms in the past. She said exclusively Us every week in February 2021, before Jet was born, “I get mostly positive things and it’s amazing, but [I do get] one or two negative comments like, “You shouldn’t do that with your baby.” You should not hold your baby this way. You shouldn’t let your baby sleep like this.
She continued at the time: “Little things like that…I don’t have [responded] so far, but if anyone were to comment on Leo, I think my mama bear [would come out].”
