The daughter of a senior Iranian official who publicly criticized US involvement against President Donald Trump over his intervention inIran’s protests was reportedly fired from her teaching position at a major American university.
The Emory WheelEmory University Media, reported that the dean of the medical school announced in an email on January 24 that Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani was no longer an employee of the university.
Ardeshir-Larijani was an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory School of Medicine.
“The announcement follows a January 19 demonstration where Iranian-American protesters gathered in front of Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute to oppose the university’s employment of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani,” the outlet reported.

The non-profit Alliance Against Apologists of the Islamic Regime of Iran (AAIRIA) claimed
The non-profit association Apologists for the Alliance Against the Iranian Islamic Regime (AAIRIA) claimed that Ardeshir-Larijani had been living and working in the United States for several years.
The group also cited the professional profile on Emory Healthcare’s official website as showing a listing for a woman named Ardeshir-Larijani, a U.S.-trained hematologist-oncologist practicing in Atlanta.
The claims first gained attention amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran following the outbreak of protests and reports of deaths during an intense crackdown starting December 28.
Trump warned of possible US action in response.
In a January 2 Truth Social article, the president warned that if Iran “violently kills peaceful protesters,” the United States “will come to their rescue,” saying “we are locked, loaded and ready to go.”
Trump’s remarks prompted warnings from senior Iranian officials, who said any U.S. interference would cross a “red line.”
Ali Larijani had posted on US interference in Iran’s internal affairs would be “[destabilize] the whole region” and “[destroy] American interests. »

“The American people must know that it was Trump who started this adventure,” he wrote, “and they must pay attention to the safety of their soldiers.”
AAIRIA responded by urging U.S. authorities to review the immigration and visa status of Ardeshir-Larijani and her husband.
The group urged officials to consider whether continued residency in the United States is consistent with U.S. law, national security considerations, and principles of accountability and human rights, in a declaration shared online.

Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., also called on Emory to fire Ardeshir-Larijani and the state medical board to revoke her medical license.
Ardeshir-Larijani’s dismissal also comes two weeks after sanctions were imposed on her father by the Treasury Department, which said he “is responsible for coordinating the response to protests on behalf of Iran’s Supreme Leader and has publicly called on Iranian security forces to use force to suppress peaceful protesters,” and has publicly defended the regime’s actions.
Ali Larijani has in the past described the United States as a hostile power.
