The spokesperson continued, “He improperly crossed the double yellow line and traveled against the flow of traffic in the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle that was beginning to turn right from westbound Pitkin Avenue to northbound Mother Gaston Boulevard and struck a 33-year-old female pedestrian who was attempting to cross Pitkin Avenue in the marked crosswalk from the northeast corner to the southeast corner, against the pedestrian light.” »

According to authorities, while Kianna was “lying on the roadway,” she was “then struck by a black and gray sedan, driven by an unidentified individual.”

“EMS responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene,” the spokesperson added. “Vehicle operations did not remain on scene. There were no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.”

On Friday, Anthony confirmed his daughter’s untimely death via Facebook, sharing a post about the hit-and-run while asking for privacy.

“Please give me and my family time to process this,” he captioned the status update at the time. “THANKS.” The father also shared a link to a NY Post article regarding the accident.
