Marissa Da’Nae Explains Why Her Son Calls EKT 40 “Daddy”
In a clip posted to user @livebitez’s Instagram account, Marissa Da’Nae explained that her son, Chozen, never called “Bryson,” which is NLE Choppa’s first name, “daddy,” and she seemed to imply that he didn’t believe NLE was his father. Instead, she said Chozen considered her ex, rapper EKT 40, to be her father.
The clip sparked a lot of reaction online, prompting Chozen’s mother to take to her Instagram Stories to clarify and double down on her stance. She clarified that EKT 40 is the only father figure her son knows, citing the time they spent together, while also accusing NLE Choppa of not showing up as a parent. Marissa further claimed that NLE Choppa showed favoritism towards her other children and only saw their son three times in 2025.
NLE Choppa’s mother responds to Marissa Da’Nae’s claims
Shortly after Da’Nae’s comments began circulating, NLE Choppa’s mother, Angeleta, entered the conversation with a strong response. Objecting to this narrative, she defended her son and wrote: “These children know exactly who their father is. All three of them.”
Although NLE Choppa has not publicly responded to these allegations, his mother has made it clear that she does not agree with the online narrative regarding her son.
