Catholic influencer Paul-Kimthe wife of, Maggie Kimpays tribute to their 5-year-old son, Micah, a week after his death.

“It’s been a week since we had to leave the hospital. A week since it was decided that you would never set foot in our house again,” Maggie wrote via Instagram on Thursday January 8. “Leaving you alone in that room and walking away was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever had to do. Every motherly bone in my body ached with how much it hurt.”

Maggie continued, “It has also been a week of witnessing your little miracles. A week of seeing signs of your presence and feeling your little ‘hellos’. I didn’t expect that pain and consolation would go hand in hand. How every breath in my lungs would burn with the fact that we have to live without you. And how every smile in my memory would give me visions of your smiles in Heaven.

Despite her family’s grief over Micah’s death from a severe case of the flu, Maggie wrote that they also “experienced a lot of peace.”

Alongside the tribute, Maggie shared a photo of Micah’s hand holding hers.

Paul announced the news of Micah’s death on December 31.

“Micah, I miss you. There’s a deep, painful hole in my heart. Even though our house is full of people, it’s too quiet without you,” she wrote via Instagram on January 2. “I keep thinking I’ll look out and see you laughing on the swings. Or you’ll slowly open my door and walk up to my bed and I’ll hear your sweet voice say, ‘Mom?'”

Maggie continued, “Oh, the pain is indescribable. And yet, you have shown us in so many ways that you are with us. It’s not the same joy as holding your hand or hearing your voice, but there is an inexplicable joy that only comes from knowing that you are with Jesus. That you are in our real home. And that you are very, very happy.”

The social media personality, who also shares children Audrey, Remy, Joey Aiden and John Paul with Paul, asked Micah to “keep visiting him.”

“You have always been so helpful and willing to make me smile. And I will continue to ask for your help. Boy. I am so proud of you,” she added.

“This incredibly difficult and impossible time for our family — it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life and it continues to be,” Paul said of Micah’s hospitalization in his Dec. 31 video. “During those two weeks, we fought long and hard, consulting with legal, health and ethics teams, even outside of the hospital. Just to make sure we were leaving nothing to chance. In many ways, we fought for Micah to buy him as much time as possible until he passed away. As his father, it is my duty to do so. Even though in God’s ultimate will, it was not intended that he would die. get well.”
